Proverbs 5:1-5:2 

1 “(a)My son, attend [give heed] unto my wisdom, and bow [incline, extend] thine ear to my understanding:

            (a)Proverbs 4:20


2 That thou mayest regard [preserve] discretion, and that thy lips may (a)keep [constantly preserve] knowledge.”

Proverbs 5:3-5:6 - "Immorality Warning"


3 “(a)For the lips of a strange [immoral, woman of folly (contrast to wisdom)] woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is (b)smoother than oil:


            (a)Proverbs 5:20, 7:5; (b)Psalm 55:2, Proverbs 12:16


(a)But {her end is (b)bitter} as wormwood, sharp (c)as a two-edged sword.


            (a)Psalm 57:4; {in the end she is bitter}; (b)Ecclesiastes 7:26; (c)Hebrews 4:12


5 Her feet go down (a)to death; (b)her steps take hold on hell [He Sheol].


            (a)Hebrews 13:4; (b)Proverbs 2:18, 7:27


(a)Lest thou shouldest ponder [reflect] the path of life [her life], her ways are moveable [unstable]that thou canst not know them.”
