Ephesians 2:8 "For by grace [God's free/unmerited favor] are ye [you] saved [rescued and preserved] through faith [reliance, loyalty, complete trust in God]; and that not of yourselves [humanly powerless]: it is [salvation] the gift [free present] of God [Creator, Redeemer, eternal and infinite Spirit]:"
God extends His undeserved favor and will forgive our sins, rescuing us from Hell deserved, when we fully and completely trust Him. We are powerless to provide salvation by our own merit. Salvation is God's gift to anyone who puts complete faith in Him and accepts His Way of salvation.
